    The history of balloons

In 1824, the first balloon saw the light of day in London, or rather: the world saw the first balloon, because people had never seen anything like it before! The first representative of the round, colourful genus was invented by Michael Faraday, who conducted experiments with hydrogen.

To build a balloon, he placed two sheets of raw rubber on top of each other, like a tailor would place two pieces of fabric on top of each other to sew them into a sack - or an evening gown, depending on the customer's taste. But raw rubber is a tricky material because it sticks. The advantage was that the edges of the balloon could be easily pressed together. The disadvantage was that such latex balloons had to be dusted with flour from the inside so that the two halves did not stick together in the middle.

Despite the complex production process, the latex balloon started its triumphal march and already in 1825 the first "construction kits" for balloons were sold - because at that time, you had to assemble your balloon yourself. However, the first latex balloons were not used as toys for children, as they were filled with highly explosive hydrogen. The first balloons were rather used as wind direction meters.

From individual item to mass product

When the first rubber balloons were manufactured, even the procurement of the natural material was still a real adventure. A rubber balloon is made of natural rubber, also known as latex. Since England is the motherland of the latex balloon, the manufacturers had a problem, because rubber trees grow mainly in Malaysia and the latex milk could not be preserved for transport at that time. So for the production of latex balloons in Europe, rubber mats had to be dried in Malaysia to make the material durable for transport. Only then could the rubber begin its long journey and reach Europe undamaged.

In the mid-twentieth century, resourceful scientists finally developed a way of preserving the latex for the production of latex balloons and the dipping process developed. The vulcanisation process also made latex balloons much more robust and durable, which finally made them a classic for children's birthday parties. Since then, the production volume of inflatable decorative articles has increased constantly and today it is impossible to imagine everyday life without them.

The balloon as a colourful all-rounder

Decorative balloons are always a wonderful eye-catcher. They are colourful, have wonderful, soft shapes and spread a good mood everywhere - you just have to like them. Therefore, latex balloons are of course also used for many different occasions.

The balloon at birthdays - birthdays are a very classic occasion to decorate with balloons. They are inexpensive, can be inflated quickly and easily and can be placed wherever there is room for colourful cheerfulness. They are particularly suitable for children's birthdays, as you can also use them to organise many fun games such as balloon dancing.
Latex balloons as decoration for carnival - can you imagine a carnival party without balloons? Neither can we! Where rubber balloons hang, there is a party. The colourful round decoration wonders are quasi an internationally recognised sign for fun and good mood!
Balloons as signposts - if you are organising a party, guests who have never found their way to you before will certainly come. If you place latex balloons in front of the house, in the garden or at the door of the flat in the hallway, you are creating a "trail" for your guests, which they only have to follow. Because if you are welcomed by such cheerful signposts, you don't even have to search long to find where the party is taking place!
Company parties and events with latex balloons - in every company it is allowed to celebrate every now and then! Employee birthdays, company anniversaries, the successful completion of large projects, the launch of a new product, there are always reasons to celebrate together and thus express appreciation for the team. Every celebration within a company is also a team-building measure and gives employees the opportunity to get to know each other better in an informal setting, which promotes the transfer of knowledge and cooperation in general. A few cheerful latex balloons are a simple but effective "measure" to make a company event colourful.
Balloons are also a wonderful decoration for particularly stylish occasions, as the variety of different balloons is breathtaking today. A wedding decoration, for example, can be beautifully and very symbolically designed with balloons. How about a bow of golden balloons, through which the couple can walk as a symbol for the step into a new life together?
Inflatable balloon numbers are of course the highlight of any decoration when there is a birthday, wedding anniversary or anniversary to celebrate. There are no limits to creativity, because after all, all numbers can be combined with each other, so there is the right balloon number for every occasion, from the third birthday to the centenary of the company.

Breathtaking variety and creativity: shapes, colours and materials

Today a balloon can take on almost any shape or colour, the variety is really amazing and by far not all balloons are latex balloons today. There are also balloons that are called foil balloons and are made of materials such as polyester. Such balloons are steamed with a wafer-thin layer of metal and then printed with many different motifs. We all know these beautifully glittering foil balloons on which the stars of our children can be seen - comic figures or heroes from cartoons, for example.

Balloon animals are also a magical attraction at any party. If you can conjure up animals, shapes, faces and much more from special balloons, you can be sure that children will be amazed! Shaped balloons are also a permanent attraction. A latex balloon, for example, which depicts a cheerfully colourful animal figure like an Easter bunny, is a wonderful eye-catcher and the highlight of every festive decoration.

There are also balloons for many different occasions, which immediately express a loving message. Red balloons, which look like hearts, are suitable for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day and many a balloon can come up with a romantic verse or a funny saying printed on it.

For New Year's Eve, there are balloons that look like champagne bottles, for the birth of a child there are balloons that look like cuddly teddy bears with a little heart in their hands, and Christmas balloons float in the air like reindeer! So there is nothing that does not exist in the world of balloons and you will surely find the right balloon for every occasion to bring joy to a loved one!

The latex balloon as a creative wonder: craft ideas for imaginative decoration

Some people like to be creative and put imaginative ideas on the internet, so they are easy to copy! For example, coloured cardboard can be used to make enchanting animal balloons that look like dinosaurs, colourful blowfish or unicorns. Balloons in all colours of the rainbow can also be used to create rainbows! Even gifts of money, which can look unloving without a creative idea, can become a hit with a smart craft idea! Fill a transparent latex balloon with confetti and push rolled up bank notes into it before knotting it!

The balloon as ambassador in marketing

Of course, companies always need unusual advertising media that underline the image of their company in a charming and likeable way. Advertising balloons are the perfect and also cost-effective advertising medium if they are printed with the logo or motto of a company and then given away as a gift. As an entrepreneur, you will win many, many promoters who will carry your logo around the city for free and at the same time build a positive emotional connection to your likeable company.

A decoration with colourful balloons is also a must for a special event in a shop, because such a decoration directly in front of the shop, for example at the entrance, has a fantastic long-distance effect and automatically attracts visitors. Because where there is creative and loving decoration, people flock to see what else is on offer!

Balloon bouquets for a very special appearance

Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle before a party, there is simply not enough time to put elaborate craft ideas into practice. Nevertheless, no one has to do without creative and individual balloon decorations, as there are ready-made balloon bouquets for every occasion. Are you perhaps looking for an original decoration for a big football event or do you need jewellery for an atmospheric Advent celebration? Then a bouquet is just right for you!

Would you like to celebrate a huge success, such as your child's graduation or coming of age, a business deal or the start of your long-planned trip around the world? Then you will also need a giant balloon! Or even several! As a special highlight in the truest sense of the word, you can also get LED balloons that conjure up soft and atmospheric light, making each decoration shine uniquely.
